The Heart of the Tempest
**The Heart of a Tempest** A storm within, a raging, endless sea, Where waves of anger crash eternally. A heart of stone, a soul of iron cast, Forever bound to this tempest, forever fast. The pain, a viper, gnawing at his core, Leaving wounds that fester, evermore. Rage, a wildfire, burning fierce and bright, Consuming reason, plunging him in night. He seeks escape, in shadows, deep and vast, But the torment follows, clinging ever fast. He tries to drown it, in the depths of wine, But the echoes linger, a mournful, bitter sign. He fights against it, with a fury born of strife, But the tempest rises, claiming back his life. Each victory fleeting, a mirage in the sand, The pain returns, a merciless command. He sees no solace, no end to this despair, A prisoner of anguish, beyond all earthly care. The weight of sorrow, crushing down his soul, Leaving him broken, beyond all control. And so he wanders, a ghost upon the earth, Haunted by memories, of immeasurable worth. A soul adrift, a ship upon a raging sea, Forever lost, in this eternity.

I started writing poetry when I was young. The written word and writing myself allowed me to escape many different pains. I recently decided to publish what I write on here . I hope everyone enjoys it.
