The Hold of Winter

The Hold of Winter There's a desire for a cosy fire Yet Winter holds with his icy arm A touch of frosty air in my face The snow-white covers all with charm Cold winds are roaring around the house Owl's hoo-hoo the only sound at night Closer I snuggle in your loving arms Whisk away the Winter's tune of blight Dreaming trees glisten in pale moon light Flowers of ice veil the window pane Romance is felt beside a gleaming fire And romance shows in your eyes again Would we bother 'bout being snowed in? With peace and solitude as time's wrap A chance to understand a soul's sheen Where hope for new Spring is waking up The Winter's robe is from the ice queen In sunshine sparkling as pure delight Look with your heart and thank the Giver Enjoy your Winter's most perfect side!
