The Liverpool Riots
In the 1980s my beloved city of Liverpool was left to rot away It was a city on the edge through police racism and unemployment Although there was no work for most of the people anyway July 1981 Toxteth district of the city broke out in riots Molotov cocktails and brick missiles made the police back away Day after day and night after night Cars and buildings were set alight The people would have been apathetic fools if they did not fight For nine nights the riots took place Innocent black people under the SUS laws were wrongfully stopped in the streets Priminister Margaret Thatcher insulted the good honest people Because she didn't care about this proud city anyway This once great port of the Empire lost 80,000 jobs Business and housing ripped to bits Thatcher had done to this great city What Adolf Hitler couldn't do during the long blitz Poverty and deprivation was what unemployment brought But a lesson to the government had to be taught

I have a mental health illness and I was a inpatient in a private secure mental health hospital not because i was a danger to the public but because i myself was the only person who was in danger from me was myself and that will reflect in my poetry...
