The Mini-bus Taxi
They roar down our roads, breaking all laws; Deathtraps on wheels, riddled with flaws! The arrogant driver, his bellowing tout; With utter contempt, they society flout! Sadly their antics get tacit endorsement, By traffic cops, through poor law enforcement! They're armed to the teeth! the officers sob... Put bluntly, these folk are not doing their job! In this fair *city, with breathtaking zeal, Parking offences, cops firmly with deal! Taxis and touts, are they treated the same? Not on your nellie, for they are royal game! Taxis must meet a great public need; Precisely why all laws they should heed! Do they consider other road users, too? Must they really hoot, to passengers woo? A crackdown on taxis...for that a strong case, As recap programme...at less than snails pace! Less talk...more action, at that pretty brisk; Death tolls are rising, we're all at great risk! Strategies, talk shops, so greatly abound; What's really needed, is feet on the ground! Tough law enforcement, make them comply... 'Ere many more so needlessly die! *Cape Town
