The misery

I have never known the joy of loving someone. I have never known the joy of being loved. I stand alone in this desperate world Watching and waiting. Hoping and praying. The days drag on from sunrise to sunset. The seasons change and the years decay, and I'm dragged along from sunrise to sunset. I walk alone in this desolate world Yearning and dreaming. Longing and pleading. This mortal flame is fading fast as the embers of my life are cooling. No hope for the future and condemned by my past. Will I die alone in this miserable world? Embittered and hating. Forever regretting?
