The Musky-Tears
In my job I serve customers face-to-face, usually on my own as it's generally quiet. On the occassion that inspired this poem however, it was incredibly busy and when that happens there is a button that rings a bell to call another member of staff or two to come round and help serve. I rang the bell and then kept ringing and no-one came the customers' tempers were rising along with the size of the queue and I was getting the brunt of it. One for One And none for all! It started so differently, Where's the Cavalry? Where's the damned cavalry?! The troops are getting in from every angle, Every single degree is Falling, Mangled. I stand here fighting, One against a million, Shouting, crying for someone's joining with me. One for one And all for none! This isn't a battle, It's a dog-gone masacre! Down right macabre! This Army's like a gone wrong card trick!
