The Naivety of Youth

I thought I knew you But you're a stranger now The promises we once shared Are empty somehow The laughter is gone Andour eyes remain dry You walked away Without a goodbye What happened to us To the person I knew You've changed too much Are you even still you? I thought I could understand That we were the same But now I'm just lost I can't even remember myname I sit here, so lonely With tears in my eyes Do you know how you've hurt me It's you I despise I call my own name Just to hear how it sounds Because I'd forgotten How it sounded out loud Perhaps past this heart ache I'll find some truth If only I could escape The naivety of youth.
