the nightingale's song

Hear the violin's lament... A lone, sad love-made tale: One that went and was lost on the gale, The other turned into a nightingale And sang her sorrows so sweet Her lover's soul returned for her to meet. He became the rain and mist, He came to life on a laurel tree - So the nightingale sang for me. So sweet, the little bird sang, So sweet , we are all in foreign land - And strange things are at night perceived: Two lovers come together in the moonlight Two lovers embrace, will soon part at dawn; But in my dreams fate they fight, But in my dreams together they are drawn - till the nightingale's song kisses the light.
