The Passenger
I'm a passenger in my vehicle today my good friend Richard is at the wheel and even though I've traveled this road a hundred times I've never took notice how the thousand of tiny leaves from the trees lining the road glisten in the sun as they subject themselves to the whim of the wind The old picket fence on the corner in need of repair never really recognized but today tells a tale of weathered and worn of enduring the test of time as it continues to remain standing in contrast to the newly installed fence directly across The meadows we pass are the same the cows grazing are the same but today it's as though I'm not just merely seeing but perceiving every picture and I'm taken into a much deeper level of awareness I glance over to my friend and at this moment I'm thankful for friendship I'm thankful for sight, I'm thankful for clarity and understanding and I'm thankful to be a passenger today
