the pensive chair
Do you sit alone at night and think through sodden tears My life’s in ruins I haven’t moved for years Do you sit alone and smirk with your belly nestled to a beer Pensive, only about which horse will win you your next score Do you sit alone surrounded by people Like some diseased oxygen whore Sucking on a cigarette ruining the air for our young lungs Do you sit alone and dream of things you’ve done before Because your life’s not worth living anymore Do you ever sit and think of me Living without you so carefully Sitting alone thinking about you thinking of me Trying to hear a voice to the face I’ve placed from photos I cant remember and Christmas cards I cant bear to read Have you ever shed a tear for me Or are you all dried up but not dried out Dried of caring for anyone, Especially me Do you sit alone at night and think You might die and I wont know it ...I think I might smile at the knowledge.
