The Precluded Road

When I looked through the window of life, Saw a river flowing, rushing and so alive, I went out and nearer to it, The gurgles of water against the stone-hit Pleased my heart and soothed my ears, The river, so bold and with no fears, Flowed swiftly to meet the sea, Wanted to reach its destination desperately, Blindly she went on and on, Tirelessly rushed through dusk and dawn, She ran and flowed, amused and carefree, Every path was going to take her to sea, She was eager and always ready, To color herself in the colors of sea, Life or world didn’t matter for her, She didn’t care for tears or laughter, All she knew, as away she fled, Was that her eternity lay in a step ahead, Nothing could calm and please her more, Than with eyes to see the sea before, Making her way through all the hurdles, Got one with sea and forgot all her troubles, The waves of sea, the sound of river with stone-strike, They were so different but still alike, The sea was vast and the river fragile, Still she took the steps to meet, from miles, The question I asked made me blush and shiver, “Was I seeing myself in that river?” And I flowing with it clearly showed, That I had stepped onto the precluded road…
