The Rock
Tranquillity interrupted by force through unhinged wooden door A foul mouth demonic figure Glaring, snaring at the usual prey Your heart heavy stench of fear besiege our beings through a Slumped-over sense of drunkenness Your prey hiding in dark corners of uncertainties, As deafening silence grew ominous blue What happened to the unbroken rock we once knew? Protector of knee-riding fantasies On holidays of fresh cut ocean breeze As the suffocating candlelight dims, so does our light from within, for the unbroken rock we once knew A mother’s heart beat feverishly Bravely soft ,gestures to assure a fear gripped brood: “It’s going to be allright let the devil sleep, don’t make a sound, try not to speak” before the demon song ends The same demon on which our lives depends Threatening tears burst, laying tracks on innocent faces soundless, deadened state of emptiness, where a blinded love once reigned Replaced by hate for the demon within What happened to the unbroken rock we once knew? With chiselled rock like facade Maybe too perfect you once played your part I guess we’ll never know your true angelic heart
