The Shore
The sun hits me like a warm blanket And the tide soothes my soul, Ripping and roaring new life into me To depths I dared not go. With my hands in the sand, I grasp the cold, wet, and gritty remnants of my childhood's past; Reminding me of a faithful time I once had. The gulls sheer through the rays above me The shadow of their wings transcend my eyes And an unfamiliar emotion comes over me. I think its content. I think it's happiness. I am this moment. Forever, at last.
