the sky bled red

Dramatically the day soon fades Chromatically through hues and shades For twilight grants to us at dusk An art the angels paint for us Electric blues then can be seen Changing into cerulean When violets kiss indigo Amethyst will glow in tow The sun which runs into the west To flee the east for peace and rest Slips from the sky into the sea Drips his violent reds which bleed The squinting horizon then becomes Tinted with byzantium When persimmon hold the hands of rose A rustic scarlet garden grows Flickering like will-o-the-wisp Within this coral floral bliss Of salamander pansies bright Like puffy oleanders white A field of flame tipped clouds which drips As if they were but crimson lips Garnet pillows softly pouting Their firekiss of bliss now sprouting Warm amaranths and carmine mums Hibiscus and chrysanthemums Fuchsias, goldenrods and mace Tiger lilies and cardinal lace Daffodils and dandelion Birds of paradise tinged cyan Spectacularly spectral blurs Purples, reds and orange colors A fantastical display of rays Blossoming in vibrant ways Then the evening does descend And blows in with the onyx wind Then the sparkling stars unfold Like marigolds the night does hold Then sleep I’ll lather with my dreams Which I washed with moonlit beams Then I’ll soak in hope and cleanse When I awake in faith I’ll rinse As to the break of dawn I’ll face And dry in Heaven’s sunlit grace
