The Storm
I'm all alone walking through the rain, I can't keep track of which is raindrops and which is pain. Dark clouds begin to spread gloom, Thunder claps and down comes doom. I continue to walk, filled with fear, I call for help but no one is near. Lost like a child who cant find his way, The rain I think, is here to stay. I feel hopeless and cold, A familiar feeling that's starting to get old. Fog rolls in, with no help in sight, I think I'll keep walking for the rest of the night. Like a ghost in the fog I see a flickering flame, There sat a candle, Hope was it' name. Now the rain dies and the wind starts to blow, If I lose hope it will begin to snow. I pick up the candle and run away, And the night slowly turns into day. The wind is gone and the rain is a memory, All is clear and now I can see. The candle still burns true and bright, I almost didn't make it through the night.

I'm an amateur really. Poetry is something I've done in the past to help with emotions and have started writing again. I appreciate all comments and critiques.
