The Stream
(Note: This is a sequel to my poem "By The Moon") Walking alone amongst the trees To the place where I dreamt of you To the stream where we splashed and swam I knew it was too good to be true I awakened from a summer night Into a cold winter morning Where happiness is miles away And my soul is forever mourning I watch the water as it moves Freezing death over jagged rocks As I sit at the bank alone And reflect over all I've lost The pain has finally become too great To go on another day So I slowly walk into the stream And I'm quickly swept away
