The Street Soldier's Song
Don't know the chains he's talking about, I got roped in to help him out. I know my deeds are justified, He's making like my hands are tied. The Street Soldier's song is all I sing, To keep the area free from sin. Don't want kudos. Want no praise, I just want good for future days. A court of law could hear me say I had to sing that song today. Then free me 'cos I'd sung the song That must be voiced to help someone. And when I lay me down at night, God knows I tried to make life right By singing the Street Soldier's song, So good times could go on and on.
