Laying there beside you watching your eyes close Your breathing getting slower as you find sweet repose No doubting the sweet memories that now fill your head Of all the sweet things promised and pretty things I’ve said I’ll watch you for a moment I’m reveling in bliss But knowing all too well you’re who I’m going to miss I smile to myself as our voices play still inside my ears How just a simple moan from you can chase away my fears Our smell it hangs still in the air any would recognize Sweat and lust, need and want, but in the end just lies I regret I must be leaving and fear I’ve stayed too long For she is at home waiting afraid that she’s been wronged But I will lie her fears away and rain promises untrue Go up the stairs and kiss my kids like real fathers do And after goodnight kisses perhaps one bedtime story Thencuddle with my wife a little just to ease her worry But after all is said and done the house becomes tranquil It’s you that comes in dancing through my thoughts as I go still I smile to myself as our voices play still inside my ears How just a simple touch from you can chase away my fears
