the tryst
the tryst she opened the door, there he stood, little boy grin, penetrating brown eyes. both unsure what to say, he took her hand and kissed it. without reflection, fate melted them, one into the other. ever familiar terrain was investigated and discovered as entirely different than in the past; new places, another time, a crazy love, inexplicable and undeniable. never so eager, never so loved, they wished it would never end. every touch tender, giving, teasing and delicious, each climax that one in a lifetime; results of intimate knowing, long time yearning. excited, as if for the first time. because it was. at dinner, they wondered if people looked and knew; he suspected they might, she hoped they did. both knew the memories of this love were for a lifetime. what they shared felt real and like forever. because it is. the night was long, though unbearably short, whiled away, each tangled with the other’s body. they pledged to indulge in the sunrise; she leaned against his chest, enfolded in his embrace. as that near and burning star crowned the horizon, she knew; he was the one. he took her mouth with his, long, deep, she grew dizzy with the sweetness and pressed herself along the length of him, as closely as she could. with their arms they held fast, as if for the last time. because, it was; their only time. ©tlp 2010
