THE WARRIOR
I have seen men become warriors in the war they call love I have borne witness to the pain of their defeat The rejection of love they could give I have seen their bliss at their first kiss As well as their blush on their first tease I have been a keen observer as they waited for the word yes And to have seen a single smile to a billion jests I have been a spectator while they gambled their wealth away And as love led their life astray I was with them when the shots of tequila seemed like water And not even a single one of them did waver Their once feeling of pure ecstasy Has now become their own lunacy For what these warriors now say is true I have been a warrior too
