THE WEDDING

THE WEDDING * They can’t keep their hands off each other. They can’t deny their need to nurture, as pleasing each other becomes second nature. Their passion guides their daily actions, all driven by the laws of physical attraction. * She sits in the same chair that he does. She sits on his lap, he goes where she goes. They picked out new furniture and had it delivered. They swooned at the newness and the novelty of it. At night they celebrated with tumultuous passion. * When twenty-five years had come and gone, I wonder now, if they will still feel the same? He sits in his chair and she sits in hers, in chairs situated on different floors. Is it fulfilling to be married only in name? * She says to him, "Damn you. Look at me, I’m the same girl now with the same wants and needs as the one you took to bed years ago," I said If you could see me now as the lover I once was, we could find our wayout of this tangled maze. * Where the hell our your priorities? You’d rather watch TV than make love to me. The couches and chairs have springs popping through, and they are old and worn out, and our marriage is too. Throw them out in the trash, their a sight to see and like our marriage they are history. * WordPlaya, Feb 2009
