The Windmills of Avalon
The Windmills of Avalon As I floated down the river in the early morning light I saw deadly spitting cobras on the bank to my right Upon the bank to my left I saw gigantic pythons curl Up ahead I saw the windmills of Avalon gently whirl Suddenly a dragon of the Styx appeared ibefore me Breathing flame that turned the river into a boiling sea A thousand demons rose up with an evil hissing sound The windmills of Avalon kept turning round and round The fires of Hell leapt high as they tried to bar my way And as the black of night succeeded the light of day The mocking voice of Death cried ‘Stand up and fight’ The windmills of Avalon had all disappeared from sight I took my sword and my shield and set my boat to glide I called out for the God of Thunder to battle side by side I stood up tall and faced the dark vile Satan and his son I heard windmills softly calling from the land of Avalon All of the banshees from Hell were screaming in my ear A thousand slithering serpents from the river did appear A huge lightning bolt, then my consciousness was gone I awoke beneath a windmill, in the sanctuary of Avalon
