Dear cherished one, remember me When the dust of years have resettled, When I am but a faded photo In some forgotten book lies nestled. Think of me every once in a while In a moment of laughter or glee, Remember once we too had smiles And you saw the best of me. Recall the steps we took together And danced to the bouncing rays of sun, Somewhere in that endless swaying We are still rejoicing, having fun. Someday your eyes shall see my thoughts As withered as the yellowed paper, The words I sang to you alone The echoes now sadly taper. Someday your cells will forget my touch So forever let my memory shine In some kept corner of your heart And some high nook inside your mind.
