Things fall apart (Vol. 4-7)

I can’t recognize her anymore The face I used to kiss so lovingly, now a battered pound of flesh Blood-drenched shreds, which used to be her favorite polka dot dress Loose hair strands strewn over her once angelic face Her once subtle breasts, now barely staring at me Her red stockings, stuck on one of the heels of her shoe “Squeak…squeak”, that all too familiar moan of a wooden staircase A tear drops as a silhouette profile creeps out of my blind spot I see him, as much as he definitely sees me We share a seemingly eternal moment of solitude, Both certain of what’s to come He smiles, whilst wiping his bleeding facial scar {“At least she put up a fight”} His fingers straighten, and then tighten in a clenched repose His back straitened upright, head tilted slantingly towards me Light rays seep through a roof crevice, and dance on his shoulder {God still has a sense of humor, I conclude} We both give a sigh…and then it begun Restrained grunts, broken glass, flailing ashtrays The loud thudding of flesh against bone fills the room With a cat-like prowess, I quickly pounce and grab his neck Squeezing it tighter and tighter, as his eyes bulge brighter and brighter His bodily movements transgress from a fiery revolt To a spasmodic jive of rigormortis agility My heart danced to the tune of his breathless screams As I watched the life drain from his opaque eyes And then… Silence… Not a single muffle Not a single sound Not a single syllable Silence… Then all of a sudden the birds started flying backwards Left became right, and up became down Then heaven’s womb ripped opened, unleashing a torrential newborn Which would for a moment, join together heaven and earth And so I closed my eyes and opened my heart For what else can you do but watch? As things fall apart
