This Sweet Gift Of Being Blessed
I’m not saying I’m full of myself I’m not saying I’m egotistical I’ve just put my troubles upon my shelf I’m drinking in all that’s blissful I’ve found the answer to all my mindless prayers Some said in vain, others in clemency Seacrched all over my soul and found some stairs That lead to a warm aqueduct of intimacy A cosy little get away from all the adversity To sit inside myself and breathe A quiet little place where I can find simplicity And let the rain of pain run out of me My quest has been put to rest For I’ve uncovered what I’ve sought for This sweet gift of being blessed Makes me long for more So overjoyed to have discovered an inner tranquility Like lying in a bed of ivory roses Given sight to every aspiration and possibility And the marvel of the world as it closes Yet I’ll still be open Soaking up my time This part of me I have chosen To make honey from lime There were times whenI felt so depressed I would open the aqueductsdown in my soul andcry Then life unveils this sweet gift of being blessed Then all I see is clear blue skies I’m not saying I take pride In every move I make With every moving stride Every gift I take But I was born with this And I’m so glad that I’ve found what’s hard to find Like a mellow kiss This treasure of mine See, the most important part of me Is that part that won’t give in To the people who wantthe bloodI bleed My gift they try to break and bend Yet I continue to use my gift on those in need Even those who think they aren’t The young who’d give up the blood they bleed Just to learn to burn My gift I do not abuse It’s like a precious star in me And generosity I won’t refuse To let cling inside of me For this sweet gift of being blessed Is a true wonder indeed
