Three Times
In memory of Pearl: THREE TIMES A BRIDE Intelligently marching through her life, she paid no dues to foolish pride this woman, lover, wife. Her husbands numbered two, the die was cast for though she loved them both in time, no human spouse was last. Forgetfulness then claimed her for his bride, and with love’s jealousy disdains to cast her veil aside. She only sees the wedding guests, her past, through ivory haze, diminishing her view that once was vast. The bridegroom gave confusion as his ring and stole her clarity. His love is all encompassing. Her wedding dress is like an ivory tower; she dwells within, beloved rose, the blushing bridal flower. The wedding guests depart, all thought has fled. Resigned she now embraces spouse within their marriage bed.
