THROUGH A CHILD'S EYES
THROUGH A CHILD'S EYES If you've seen war through a child's eyes, You'd cup your ears to their anguished cries! Of people misplaced and relatives lost, of lives overturned at such a cost. You'd look away as orphans go begging from parents long gone, who got separated. Where all around there's fire and mayhem, and half of them died cause we could'nt save them. I'll hide in the closet of what used to be my room and I'll pray to god above, that it won't become my tomb. I'll hide in these woods till it's almost dawn. Why can't my mommy and daddy come home? I'm hungry mommy and there's nothing to eat! I can't find any water and now there's the heat! I wander in rags and I'm trying to conceal that I haven't any shoes; I've got blisters on my heels. I gave my baby sister, my last crust of bread she wouldn't stop crying,soI gave it to her instead. I tried to run away, but you can't run far with a six-month-old sister who's asleep in a drawer.
