Thy Kingdom
Thy Kingdom. It was said that your kingdom cometh, and I like the many misguided fools believed. Like those fools I visited weekly, pouring puny prayers into your hands and bound myself with laws set by the most lawless of men. Still I wonder how we were blinded by your glorious promises and dirty whoreish trinkets. My epiphany came on the day of your coming... The day the locusts swarmed and pillaged the fruitful heartland. We, the gaunt and weary were left to struggle on. Again you have sent your beloved to calvary. From our crosses we gaze down at the arid earth. Our now wizened minds know that one day it will bloom again. Yet that wisdom does not ease the pain of our weeping wounds. Of course the poor fools dont believe it is your work. "Surely the hand of god would not cast this upon thee" they say, though our unsettling cries echo into the dark. But I, the wise woman know that they will see when Calvary and its crosses beckon.
