Time
A swing and a miss, A wink and a kiss, A beautiful, bright summer day. Oh, how we loved Those days in the sun Laughing as time slipped away. But days went by, And, well, he and I— Time took its toll on us two. Oh, what a trick, How time goes so quick, We had not even a clue. Now all alone, Sitting at home: A woman, old and torn. Nothing to give; My life has been lived In the light of a summer morn.
