Time Stands Still
How soon the promises of silver linings fade, When eyes are stabbed with nightmares and dust, The voices chant and whisper their offer of trade, While murky dreams and hope hide within the crust, Not just yet, the time not now, rectify Body bleeding, soul ripped and torn, Not yet, haven’t suffered enough to justify, Push, force the key and ignore the thorn, At night nameless demons try to have their way, Tug and pull at the seems of my reality, So inviting to stop resisting and allow them to play, But my suicide is guaranteed in lost morality, So draw the curtain for a while and close tired eyes, Not alone, The smile, the grin, grimace of pain, I cry, Not alone. Currents of desire wash broken spirits with waves of bliss, Time, the fiend that will claw at wounds no longer needed, Visions of broken dreams dare not touch a thing such as this, For the future fuels the fires and the call now heeded.
