Times Are Hard
Tears fall to the ground Hearts shatter into pieces Compassion is not enough anymore Love, if ever having existed here, is torn apart Their voices raise To a level that crushes a little boy's heart Their words become harsh To the point of a mother's breakdown When did this hatred arrive? Because I can't recall When did we become strangers? Just yesterday, it seems Now who knows if we'll ever hit the point of return Mommy's imagination took her too far And our hands didn't reach out far enough to help She's trapped no where now While he feels alone/ As mom is wondering where she went wrong And we're just passing by All resentment aside All scars covered up Blood is thickest
