To Lose The Veil Of Innocence

What is innocence, That feeling longed for When life becomes hard, When everything was simple Why do we lose it For all the time spent Figuring out why We all ask the wrong question The question is Why are we sad it’s gone Innocence is a perspective It is a valuable one The simplicity of life Is beautiful to behold We are all better for it The fact is, We never lose this perspective As we grow and learn The veil is lifted Our world opens up And we become able To accomplish so much more We can always return To see the simplicity If we only take the time. Stop listening to those Who say, “It is only for children” And allow ourselves the pleasure Do not morn the loss Enjoy the simplicity But remember You should be proud You have become so much more Than simple.
