To Try, To Trust, To Love

Doubts are like bees and suspicions like flies That allow us no peace and fill us with sighs. They buzz in distrust's gloomy dark skies, Throwing our way worries and whys, Making us think all words are lies, And we grow miserable as the time flies. Maybe some things aren't meant to fit, And maybe others aren't meant to be known. Hold fast what is, and cope with it, Before you find yourself alone. Don't spend your life wallowing in fear; Enclosed in a wall that grows year by year. There will come a day when you'll wish you had dared To love in return those who really had cared, To experience the joy that only love brings, The warmth of friendship that makes the heart sing. Lock up your heart and trust not a soul, And you will miss out on a wonderful thing That makes this life both risky and sweet, But makes you happy, whole, and complete. Don't say you can't. Give someone a chance. Your days it will brighten; your life enhance. Because in the end, that's what life's all about. It isn't a voyage free of worry and doubt. So give it a try and keep moving on; Some friends with remain and others will be gone. It may not be easy. Some days may go wrong. Mistakes won't be strangers. There will be dangers, Empty words, back-stabbers, and many a big lie. And I cannot promise you that you'll never cry. Apprehension may seem to haunt you at first. The scare of a disillusion may be the worst. Your heart, at one point, may feel broken forever. But never give up on the whole world—never. Don't forget to hang on to courage's hand. When you fall, get back up and stand. Life's not a journey for the faint of heart. It's an adventure with an ending better than the start, If you are brave to dare to be strong To face the risks involved all along. And if you have patience and faith till the last, You'll discover the future makes up for the past. Don't let what's behind affect what's ahead. What's past is past, what's said is said. As long as we learn lessons mistakes mean to teach, A happier chapter isn't far from our reach. You'll realize dreams can actually come true If you've the will to forgive, forget, and start anew. You'll find true love at the end of the line, And it will be worth getting hurt that one time. Your wounds will heal and turn into scars, You'll find that place past sorrows cannot mar. By and by you'll have found in the end An endless love and a lifetime friend.
