Tomorrow
I awaken in the dark to a brand new day That seems just like the last Faces blur and words are forgotten As the future becomes the past I'm getting older one day at a time And growing bitter at the world My happiness like cloth caught on a nail That will slowly but surely unfurl This life isn't what I imagined Back in the dim and distant days When the future was something to cherish And not something from which I look away I lay in bed with sorrow in my heart Because tomorrow looks so unkind If only it didn't look so much Like the past I just left behind
