Translation - Winter Day (snow debate)
This is a translation of the famous poem by A.S Pushkin. I just translated three verses, there are two more. Winter day Snow, frost and sun – the day’s a wonder! My charming friend, are you still under The spell of sleep? Wake up, it's time! Please open up your dreamy eyes To see the North Aurora ’s rise, Appear as Northern Star and shine! Do you remember last night’s storm? Across the murky sky mist swarmed A moon, akin a pallid blob, Shined yellow through dark gloomy clouds And you sat sad, but how about Today – just look outside, you snob! Like grand magnificent white sheath Snow dazzles in the sun beneath Sublimely clear and bright blue skies. Just forest blacks, alone and lost, A christmas tree greens through the frost And river shines under the ice.
