Treacherous Winds!
Treacherous Winds! The ship rocked left and right, up and down. Waves as tall as houses, I saw, undefeatable currents! My men halved, My sails ripped – A least no-one would have to clean the deck. I gave up hope, all was lost. * Gentle waves and I’m just happy to be alive, Now I can look forward to the Soft touch of a woman, The sweetness of ale, The thrill of brawl. Someone else can amend the ship. * But no! Should I not care for my own? Keep it safe and fix it as if it were a son? Yes! I shall do that! I will sail out to another storm, to prove my worthiness. I will battle Poseidon, conquer Neptune And succeed in all! Writers note: I wrote this on holiday on a post-it note. On the return journey, I edited it, and corrected that last stanza, which I'm not particularly fond of. However, I think I left my notes on the plane, and I wrote this several months ago, so I can't remember it. So sorry, but I've only got this! I realise that "undefeatable" isn't grammatically a word, but it fit so well.
