·Thunder

Sunlight cascading like a waterfall upon me Refreshing splendor of air so clean, no need of lee Trees towering overhead, a choir of birds do sing Flowers blooming on this wondrous day of spring The sound of a stream, water percolating through rocks On distant lake boats moored to the floating docks Air neither hot nor cold providing warmth to the bones Lazily is the day spent upon the lake skipping stones How I have missed the spring the joy and the renewal Winter was so long so cold the lake just a frozen pool Now life begins it’s march harvesting the food once more The ant, the butterfly, the deer and the forested boar Soon from the tiny gazebo trumpets once more will herald Life from the shore to the town nearby where Christmas caroled And I shall walk this path from town to lake till the latest of fall When the winter winds come and life suspends her natural ball For now I will wander and wonder till sunder of winter comes I shall dance among the trees, the daffodils and the giant mums Run over the hills of green, wade burning feet in cooling stream Thanking God for creation, thanking God for life so supreme
