Tumbleweed and Rock
Falling from a great height, I tumble. A tumbleweed blown away As thewind rushes right through me. I am empty, hollow And full of holes. But then, Arock in my path Slows my steady downward decline. Eventually it enters me, Stops my tumbling. Cutting into my path, my life, And blocking the way forward But saving me from my fate too I find a new path Where I can roll slowly, No longer tumbling uncontrolled I now have a rock inside of me. Keeping me grounded, Filling up my emptiness So that I am no longer blown so violently At the mercy of the wind. I am in control of my own destiny.
