Turning Tides

I have lived in the land of never changing as dreams piled up beside the veil, the box car waits along the track and leaves dance how have we fallen so deeply times travel forward and we're still here standing, frozen. where have the chances wandered off to the ones we knew and reeled in, confident the water winks at the noonday sun waves long to remain, not fooling anyone. chatter increases behind the golden smile doors flung wide as the breeze contains and yet, we are here languishing, with one foot stuck and the other wants to play marvel not at the turning tide it laughs and glides away in the distance, a soaring gull lighthearted, don't you see? it's midnight past September these shackles burned, prisoners free. there are brighter days ahead if we continue in our hearts to believe, steadfast. our day will come to be...
