TWO WOMEN

09 Jan 2006

There are ... Two women, a widow and a divorcee. Both middle aged. Husbands lost. Widow’s to Cancer. Divorcee’s to a Mistress. Their pain palpable! Support for Widow. Family and society gathers round. Funeral, a rite of passage … to closure. Kindly deposits at her door step. Financially secure, thanks to loving husband. Her pain is great. Hers will be a lonely path. Her bed empty, but for memories. No support for Divorcee. No one gathers round. Her rite of passage … the divorce process. Society whispering … unloving, uncaring, bad wife. Serves her right! Children torn between loyalties. Deposited at her doorstep, divorce papers and bills Financial security destroyed. Her pain is great. Hers will be a lonely path. Her bed empty, memories destroyed.
