U stare, I stare On pitch-black stars painted canvas above On skies once midnight blue Overwhelmed we were with open spaces We gaze with bone brittle open jaws U stare, I stare Hands flirt unaware To “accidental” touch Of sweet nectar green U stare, I stare "still unaware” Fingers intertwined, hearts a flutter Venturing to uncharted seas On desert’s dusty blanket we stood U stare, I stare now aware to heartbeats in sync as our shy schoolboy-girl gazes meet through wolf howling night and windswept cactus bushes Our singular wish well spent Hoping this night would never end U stare, I stare, the perfect pair
