ulysses lament
Ulysses lament I think I'll settle down No more blues only sound I'll be quietly going underground There will be no more of this dirty town You can call off the search of the soul There are no more truths Just holes, holes where the fabric has ripped Holes where the magic has split Just as the Knight makes off with the Queen The Bishop has come clean The future King will soon recall That the writing was on every wall The pawns are all but gone He shows no sign of moving on Off down the fast beating track It was you know who made me snap Nothing now but the breeze As I seek shelter beneath the tattered seams Yet there is no escaping the game Even if your tired pony runs lame Paradise was postponed I felt the fear down to my very bones The Angels had all left town They don't get paid to hang around
