Unbridled Spirit

As my mind seems to drift away, I see myself standing in a clearing on top of a hill. As I look down at the grassy meadow. I see a herd of wild stallions and mares. The colts play what seems to be a game of tag. I smile as I feel myself let go. I can feel myself running free. As do the unbridled spirits around me. I come back to my body. As I walk slowly down to these majestic animals, the grass feels like velvet on my bare feet. I notice the stallion watching me. He has no fear in his eyes. I sit on the soft green grass for what seems to be hours. Slowly he begins to make his way to me. I am not afraid looking in his eyes I feel trust building between us. I hold out my hand to him. He puts his nose in my hand and I begin to slowly rub him. He is still as he watches me stand. I begin to rub his neck. He seems to hug me. He seems to be saying I understand. His mane is soft as silk. He is black as coal, with the exception of the pure white I have running through my fingers. I rub and he nudges me. He seems to be saying lets go for a ride. As I jump on his back I think I see a smile. He waits till I am situated then off we go. For a moment in time I am free. We run for minutes that in reality are really hours. I feel free running with this herd. Now my mind returns. I find it is hours later. For those precious hours I felt like the horse. I had an unbridled spirit. this is an excerpt from my book be my guest to critique it. or just enjoy it.
