They used to be bigger, All spineless and scary, Hiding in any corner they could, Exiting when my back was turned. They crawled over everything In their attempt to poison and infect Until they did so much That I became immune. Now they crawl about in numbers But remain insignificant, As tiny ants that simply annoy Trying once again to steal my sugar. Don't they know how easily they are crushed? With the simple flick of a finger Their bodies are mangled into lifeless forms, Invertebrates that try to rise above their station, But will never pass for a man.
