there was a time when we reached in our pockets and pulled out a mouthful of smiles, filled with anything but this. when laughter hides in hallways dark behind closed doors, in some other place across the fence two houses down, as lingering melodies of love now blame, when fun moves to an outer horizon and begins to feel so far away voices filter, vaguely familiar and quiet is all that remains, do visions die, too? or have they just begun this darker chapter, undone...
