JIBANANDA DASER KABITA (POEMS OF JIBANANADA DAS) UNIVERSE (Translation) At a distance lies the city, houses are broken; Sounds of a lost village we hear Human race have spent a long time here on earth, On the wall still dances the shadows Of loss, death and fear, That appears to be a hallucination. Except these hollowness nowhere There is anything on the shore of time; Still these are futile, these failures, fatigues, False promises like drops of water in a desert; This country with its songs of trees goes on forever with This terrain, love, knowledge and these commandments from heart.
