Free writing Pen on paper Shoes on feet Stomach full of tender meat But outside In the dark night The cold night There is a child Nobody sees him Turns their eyes away Nobody hears him Deafto what he has to say Cold and alone No shoes on his feet No food in his stomach No words in his mouth No thoughts in his brain Just feelings of suffering Sadness and pain Nobody loves him Nobody cares He holds out his palm But nobody shares He lifts up his face Turned to the sun When they come after him He doesn't even run His belly is empty His heart turned to stone Nobody loves him He's scared and alone He curls up tightly Tries to shut out the cold Nobody sees him Hears him Wants him Loves him He's all alone
