Sadness isn’t always obvious. Sometimes it shows up quietly, more like a fading feeling than something sharp. It can feel heavy, or just kind of hollow, like there’s a gap where something used to be, even if you can’t quite explain it. It has a way of making you slow down and pay attention. To what hurts, to what’s missing, or to things that didn’t go the way you thought they would. In that way, it’s not just pain, it’s a sign that something mattered. It doesn’t need to be pushed away right away. Letting yourself feel it, even for a little while, can take some of the weight off. Over time, it changes. It can open up space to think, to be a little kinder to yourself, and eventually to let something new take shape. You don’t have to figure it all out at once. Just noticing it is a step forward.
