Unsung Lullabies
Beyond the horizon Lies our forgotten forever Hiding there among the stars And pots of gold that were never found And never believed in Somewhere, where only birds can fly Over rainbows and through clouds Somewhere there lies our happy ending The one that never really worked out for us And as the sun shines, and the rain falls Like droplets of sunshine on my skin I remember, And for a moment, just that moment, I close my eyes and smile With my face turned upwards, towards the sun And my tears mix with the raindrops That fall on my face like unsung lullabies Whose story I will now never know.
