Upon the Breeze

While she was out walking And he no longer came to mind Looking at the horizon She had forgotten about their time A cool breeze blew upon her Sending a shiver through her soul She sensed a hint of something Enough to interrupt her stroll Upon the breeze a message Sent from days gone by It's been searching for its owner Across the sun lit sky A piece of wind he sent her Upon his dying breath Paid the devil to deliver A trade he made at death Around the world it circled Around the moon and sun From heaven to hell it traveled Until it found the one It blew in off the ocean Gently through her hair Around her neck it paused Breathing in her air Then she felt his presence It all came rushing back Hopes and dreams that vanished Plans that fell off track But then the gift was given It rocked her through her core His dying words delivered "I wish we had much more"
